Darlene,
As i have a ways to go for that with my Allison, I can only try and give advice that I followed when I potty trained my first daughter Laura and my son Eric. Laura was a breeze but my son Eric, who is autistic, I thought would be hard and to my surprise, it wasn't. I waited too long to start the process just asuming that because of his disability, he would be a hard learner. So Eric didn't really get started until he was about 3 and he took to it like nothing. I was amazed. So, the advice I'm trying to give is that maybe it really won't be that hard afterall. Maybe Holly will surprise you too. Patience of course is the #1 virtue you can offer to her. I know it may get frustrating but frustration will only discourage her. Make it fun for her by reading childrens books on potty training and letting her pick out her own "big girl" panties. She will be so proud of them that they usually don't want to get them dirty. Good luck and let us know how it's coming along.

Hi Darlene,

This isn't something I know anything about.  With that being said, I turned to http://amazon.com before i read Adriana's response.  What she says makes perfect sence.

If you go to the http://amazon.com link on our website (the black header)  you'll be taken to their site.  In the search box enter "Potty Training Down Syndrome".  That givs you several choices of books if you think that will help.

Good luck in your quest.  Now who would have thought I'd be intrested in potty training at 52 years old?...But I am!!!  Laughing

I don't have any hints, but how is she doing with it? She'll get it when she wants to!
