Topic: Gregg's mother

Adrianna, It's Gregg. I'm at a Kinko's in California and can't remember my password for the site!!!!!

Thanks for asking....Here's what's happening. My mother (Vicky) who is 80 years old has several health problems. My sister needed a little help with her even though mom is in an assisted living home. Two days after I arrived in California, mom, took sick and was taken to a local emergency room. She was transferred to a hospital about 60 miles away from her home in Vacaville. The hospital she is at now is in Antioch, CA which is close to San Francisco.

Mom has a severe infection which they were unable to control. About 5 days ago we made the tough decision to just provide comfort medications. Currently all she is receiving is a straight drip of morphine. Luckily she does not appear to be in pain and seems to be resting comfortably. She was able to communicate somewhat until yesterday but now she is quiet. As her body starts to shut down, all we do is wait and keep her constant company. My sister and I are living in her hospital room and haven't been "home" for 9 days (I think). It's hard as we watch her deteriorate and the doctors don't expect her to live past Friday (May 16th). Who knows though? It may be longer. I've already arranged for her cremation and all that follows that. Thankfully, the hospital she is in is INCREDIBLE...I have never seen anything like this before.
