I started something new on the site to hopefully help you get more for your time and money.  They are area business reviews BUT I only post those businesses that offer outstanding value (5 star) or those that I plan to stay away from (1 star).  There's nothing in the middle...it's all or nothing.

Remember, these are only my opinions and your experiences may be different.

OK..here's something new.  I'll make small package deliveries within Corpus Christi for a nominal charge.  If it will fit in my car and won't leave a stain, I'll deliver it.  This can be anything from business correspondence to pick up from local eateries.  All you have to do is order, pay for it and I'll pick it up and deliver.

I've been involved in logistics for 30+ years so I know a bit about deliveries and of course I work with a sense of urgency.

Even though I'm creating websites (and that's going quite well) I'm still somewhat bored and I need something more to do.

I have a lot of time on my hands so I've started to create personal websites and websites for small businesses.  I can give you a personal website with email addresses, 99.9% server uptime and quite a few other extra's CHEAP.  Basically, I'm bored and need something to do.  If you ever thought of a personal site or even a memorial site for a loved one who has passed away, this is a great chance.  Monthly fees for hosting are very small.  Tell me what you want and I'll give you a quote.

Hi everyone.  I just put a widget on our site for Amazon.com "lightning deals"  These are special items up for sale for a limited time only but at BIG discounts.  They are constantly changing so keep checking back.  For instance, the item for sale now is a woman's Invicta Wildfire Diamond Watch.  It normally sells for $695 but is selling through the lightning deal for only $109.99 (84% off normal cost).  It's only on sale for another 1 hour, 33 minutes but keep an eye on the banner as things are constantly changing.

"Iraq's Down Syndrome Children"

I just posted a news article in my "Down Syndrome World News" section of www.cbdsa.com from www.islamonline.net concerning "Iraq's Down Syndrome Children".  While their wording is not what we'd use, the point of their article comes through.  This article may disturb some but it's my intent to show how Ds is portrayed worldwide and that isn't always the positive, bright and cheerful side.  I'm just grateful we live in a country that values our kids and parents.  We have a lot to be thankful for.

CBDSA Website Changes 11/6/08

You may have seen that I added a "Ds in the news" section to our main page. I scan many sources to find NEW Ds related news articles and press releases and place links to them. There are some interesting articles and some are very enlightening. For example, one article from the Kuwait Times explains how Down syndrome is viewed in Kuwait. I just added a press release from a company that sells eyeglasses for those with Down syndrome. You never know what will show up. I update the list when I have something new. Sometimes that is several times an hour.

Since I'm limited on space for these links, I've created a news article archive. Just click on the link to view archived articles by month and year.

Check it out when you have a few spare moments (spare moments???) for what you may find to be some interesting reading.

CBDSA New Parent Page Stats

Our New Parent page has been up and running for Since Oct. 28th. It was suggested that I keep track of the number of hits on this page. So far we've received 12 hits from the US and Canada. This includes hits from Texas, California and Virginia.

Not bad for being up for a little over a week.

That's just what we need to do Adriana. Thanks. By posting here you're not only helping those in our group but we have visitors dropping in all the time. We've had visitors from 45 different countries and many of them return to the site more than once. They may not post here but we're being seen. Also, our site has received over 12500 hits since March so keep on posting.

I've done a little changing of the site today. I added a Texas missing child / Amber Alert box towards the top of the front page. I'm also expanding the "Ds in the news" section. My plans are to make an archive page for stories as they drop off my list on the front page.

Yeah Allison!!! OK Adriana, now it starts. She's going to be tough to keep up with :) That's great news. I'm sure she'll be walking pretty soon...but when SHE'S ready!!! You'll have to send in some pictures so we can see her trying to keep her knees clean!

I just got back in town yesterday and yes, Natalie is walking. She's so cute walking around. I don't think I'll be able to keep up with her so she'll just have to learn to come to me...yeah right.

Coffee Mug

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I ordered and received my "proud grandpa" coffee mug I ordered from OUR store. I ordered it on the 16th of July and received it on the 23rd. I purposely had it shipped by the slowest means just to see how long it would take. Not too bad at all.

The mug looks great. It's nice and heavy and the logo couldn't be better.
